Counselling with Bev
“A safe, compassionate space to explore what matters most to you”
Individual Counselling With Bev
About Me
I am a warm, compassionate and approachable counsellor, offering a safe and confidential space where you will be met with respect, kindness and understanding. My aim is to create an environment where you feel comfortable to speak openly and explore whatever may be troubling you.
I work with individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or a general sense of feeling stuck in life. Together we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace, helping you develop greater understanding, resilience and clarity.
As a fully qualified Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, I draw on a range of counselling approaches and tailor our work to suit your individual needs. My practice is grounded in person-centred counselling, meaning that you are always at the heart of the therapeutic process. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change when given the right support and space.
I came to counselling later in life, bringing with me a wealth of lived experience. Like many people, I have faced challenges including trauma, grief and emotional pain. These experiences have deepened my empathy and understanding and allow me to work in a way that is genuine, compassionate and grounded.
My role is not to judge or tell you what to do, but to support you in exploring your experiences, understanding yourself more deeply, and finding your own way forward.
Relationship Counselling With Bev
In addition to individual counselling, I also offer relationship counselling for couples.
Some couples prefer to work with a single therapist, which can provide a focused space to explore relationship patterns, improve communication, and work through challenges together.
For couples who would like a more dynamic couple-to couple approach, sessions are also available with both Bev and Vincent, where we work together with both partners to support the relationship from multiple perspectives.
What Counselling Can help With
Individual counselling can support you with:
- Anxiety stress and overwhelm
- Depression and low mood
- Trauma and past experiences
- Grief and loss
- Low self-esteem and self-confidence
- Relationship difficulties
- Feeling stuck or uncertain about the future
My Approach
My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I work at your pace, supporting you to develop insight, self awareness and practical ways of coping with life’s challenges. Over time, counselling can help you build greater confidence, emotional resilience and a stronger connection with yourself.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what has brought you to counselling. We will talk about what you would like support with, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any questions or concerns you may have.
There is no pressure to share everything straight away. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, creating a safe and supportive space where you can begin to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Many people find that simply having the opportunity to speak openly and be truly heard can be a powerful first step towards change.
How Individual Counselling Can Help
Counselling can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and the patterns that may be affecting your life and relationships.
Through therapy you may begin to:
- Develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance
- Understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions and behaviours
- Build healthier ways of coping with stress and challenges
- Strengthen your confidence and sense of self
- Improve your relationships with others
- Feel more connected to what matters most in your life
Therapy is a collaborative process. Together we can work towards helping you feel more balanced, empowered and able to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Specialism: Neurodiversity-Informed Counselling
I have substantial experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Alongside my professional work, my personal life has given me a deep and authentic understanding of neurodiversity — my partner and several family members are autistic. This lived experience has helped me appreciate the everyday strengths, challenges, and complexities that neurodivergent individuals may experience, both emotionally and practically.
I have completed additional specialist training in neurodiversity-informed practice and offer an approach that is respectful, supportive and affirming. I work collaboratively with clients to develop practical strategies that support greater self-understanding, self-acceptance and confidence.
My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where neurodivergent
individuals feel genuinely understood, and where we can work together to
find ways of navigating life that feel more manageable and aligned with who
you are.
Taking the First Step
Counselling can feel like a big step, and it is natural to feel unsure at first. My aim is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your experiences at your own pace.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need a space to talk things through, counselling can offer the opportunity to reflect, gain clarity, and begin moving forward.
If you would like to find out more or discuss whether counselling might be right for you, you are welcome to get in touch.
